Don't be afraid to ask the surgeon what they would do if it was their finger. Do you have any other joints that are inflamed or any other bone spurs? If so, might want to ask about some tests for TNF and rheumatoid factor.

View Quote No. A surgeon may be willing to do it with a nerve block to that arm, in a surgery center or hospital, with an anesthesiologist available in case the block does not work.
