I have read all the FAQ and threads on the SBR issues and I still have one that is unanswered.

What do you have to put down for OAL if you plan to put various uppers on it, how do you indicate how long it is going to be?

Thanks

David

"less than 16 inches"? oops that's barrel length, "less than 26 inches"?

barrel length less then 16 and over all length measure it with stock extended and put less the what ever number it is

Put the shortest length availible. No one will probably ever check, but should it ever happen if the Form 1 says 24 inches and it is 26 inches they'll be no issue.

Also, list it in multimle calibers, ie 223, 9mm, and any other caliber you might want to convert to in the future.

Here is a link for a Form 1 just in case you need it. I'd put it down for a very short barrel with every caliber you could think of for future use. Even if you do an unlisted caliber in the future you simply notify the ATF in writing of the change. Class 3 is MUCH simpler than people will have you believe. The hardest part is the wait.
