Which one should I get first? Which AR would you recommend?

I'll go against the grain and say Sig 556... but a better choice would be an XCR.

All around rifle really. Mostly will just go to the range, but I would like it to be home defense capable. I also want it to be very accurate, and reliable.

AR is more balanced... Sig is WAY front-heavy with a rail

I've been looking and fondling the SIG556 for about 6 months at the funstores
but have yet to put the cash on the counter.
Very intrigued by the SIG but am having a hard time actually buying it.

I do adore my Rock River Arms @ $970.00

COLT 6920, then. I don't know jack about SIG's, though.

I went with original 551 handguards and an AR15 A2 stock, it weighs much less and is better balanced than stock from the factory.

AR all the way.

Armalite, Bushmaster Colt or DPMS . RRA if they can find one to sell you. You can build a nice from from some of the parts vendors like M1 sales etc.

Made by Robinson Ams, some people are pissed at the company because the owner supported Mitt Romney and told people to buy his rifles so he could donate more money to Romney and proceeded to tell us how we were stupid for not supporting Romney and he knew more than all of us. Idiotic beliefs aside, its a great rifle and I bought mine used so I was not supporting Romney with my purchase.

In any event, gas piston carbine with an adjustable gas system, calibre conversion capability via a barrel swap, takes AR mags, upper receiver has a full length integrated rail system. Available with a side folder stock in no ban states. Charging handle is on the left side like a FAL, bolt release is on the trigger guard, mag release just like an AR. I love mine! I live in NY so I have a brake instead of a flash hider and a fixed stock... no folders allowed.

I like the sig 556, but would rather have a quality AR direct impingement rifle if I could only have one.

The XCR likes lighter bullets and has a 16.25 inch barrel... hits just fine and as accurate as my ARs. The Sig likes heavier grain bullets, has an 18 inch barrel and is extremely accurate. All three are fine rifles, I'm just not as thrilled with the AR as I once was. I still own several, won't ever be without one or two... but have not bought a new AR since the federal ban ended and I was able to get some preban receivers from friends outside NY.

Id go with an AR. If Sig ever dedided to stop making that rifle, you will be screwed if you ever need replacement parts.

Obviously with an AR, there is never a shortage of parts.
