AR15.Com is proud to announce its partnership with GUNSTRUCTION and the upcoming launch of our new online 3D AR-15 builder. Unlike builders of the past, GUNSTRUCTION is completely interactive and engineered for flexibility and future expansion. Our goal is to provide the ultimate tool for all AR fanatics to realize their ultimate tactical rifle. Using real world parts from top manufacturers, GUNSTRUCTION users can configure their dream rifle from scratch, or modify featured builds to their liking. All of this is presented in a slick, easy to use package that runs right in your web-browser. GUNSTRUCTION is a powerful tool for planning any AR build, allowing users to easily identify part incompatibilities, verify proper co-witnessing of optics, check overall weight and dimensions, share builds with others, animate parts and much more! One aspect which is critical to any builder is the parts. We feel AR15.Com is the perfect home for this project as we are involved with AR manufacturers and central to the community, allowing us to bring everyone together in a way nobody else can. We have been working to bring companies on board and will continue that process through the life of this project. We are excited to have signed up a number of key companies in the past few weeks including the project sponsor Troy Industries and manufacturers LaRue Tactical, Armalite, STAG Arms, Trijicon, Magpul, CMMG, Lancer Systems, Elzetta, Vortex Optics, Geissele Automatics, Blackforge, Spike’s Tactical and JT Double Star! We are also finalizing commitments from several other key manufacturers as we prepare for another round of invites. Our goal is to get every company involved and get every single product they make into the builder! What makes this project really special is the development team from GUNSTRUCTION; a group of firearm enthusiasts with a passion for creating an unbelievable experience. By working together we have merged all our ideas and knowledge to create solutions to a number of problems that tend to come up when considering a rifle build. While we have laid the ground work for this project, we put it in your hands to help us perfect it. As a part of AR15.Com, we will ask you, the community, to drive the scope of the project to new levels, suggesting parts to add, additional features, and improvements to existing functionality. With this announcement, we are featuring a "sizzle reel" of the builder in action so you can see the project as it comes closer to an initial launch later this summer. You can find the video, by clicking on the video image below! Feel free to join us in the newly opened GUNSTRUCTION Forum on AR15.Com to chat about the builder and share your thoughts! !!! This is way cooler than photoshopping a halberd to a bayonet mount.
Does it have duracoat paint options? |

Can't recall, old age and all, but wasn't here something similar to this here a few years ago?

Can't recall, old age and all, but wasn't here something similar to this here a few years ago? We tried to make a 3D builder back in 2007/2008 but had to stick with flash for the Weapon Builder project. We created the 3D models for parts and then uses photos of those for the flash. This allowed us to show the part model in 3D, but not the build itself. Think of this like one of the builders out there, only super charged. We met and exceeded all our visions from the original idea thanks to our partnership with GUNSTRUCTION. It wasn't pretty for them to be stuck in a conference room with me for a few days, but they survived it. We have planned for a number of exciting features, some of which have not been announced, to ensure that we hit the ground with as much as we can. The rest will be up to the community. We want to know what you guys want to see it do and what improvements can be made to enhance the experience. We will continue to stuff this thing full of parts and ensure it has just about everything out there. We also want it to be fun and easy to use! It will allow you to save and share your builds over ARFCOM, Facebook, and more so you can reach out to friends looking for a similar build. You will be able to load in previous builds which are shared and then use it as your starting point to modify it to meet your demands. If the Spartan smiths had this type of tool for their weapons, they would have screamed, "COME AND MAKE THEM!" |

This is going to crash when it goes live because of everyone trying to do it at once!
Can't wait to use it |

Finally a 3D builder. but not necessarily involving 3D printing technology |

This has potential for some really beautiful rifles to be born. A big plus is it will eliminate a ton of pic request threads and compatibility questions. A lot hinges on weather or not they can get the big boys to play along.
