Here's the deal! Here's 20,600 acres in Texas for $5.1 million (link below). That's about $250 an acre.

We get 1000 AR15.com members to chip in $5000 each and we each get 20 acres. Then we go there and start our own town and police dept and deputize everyone so they can "use" dept purchased NFA stuff. Police dept pricing on for example a full-auto M4 is about $800. You donate $800 to the Police dept and you get to use the M4 as a deputized authority in the county. How does this sound? Who's in?

I vote to up the buy-in to at least $10,000 so we each get 40 acres and keep some of the rift raff out.

ETA I would super seriously consider getting in on this. And you would want me there too because I wouldn't even move there. Just buy in and visit to shoot shit and make improvements.

I was merely referring to all of the wonderful ideas in that thread. However, if you buy an island it would be much easier to secede and make it your own country.

Sounds fair. You could get 40 acres and 6 full-auto M4's for the same price as a ONE transferable pre -86 M16.

Too close to the border. Once the Mexican drug lords know we are out there with tons of full autos we are F'ed. There are ranches farther north on the TX NM border twice as big and half as much. But that said, I'm in for 5k if it can happen.

The link I posted in the OP was just an example to show what we could buy. We could look around for other land that is more suitable. I did a 3 minute search and found that listing.

Hell, each parcel would need to have a 20ft high berm to protect against all the full auto shooting going on. It would be a nonstop warzone. I would open up pizza place and a mini mart on my place to keep everyone fed and supplied with food and smokes/beer 24/7...

No, the NFA stuff stays with you. Police don't have time to run to the station to get their gear then to the scene. In fact a former SWAT officer I know was issued a second sidearm to keep with his gearn so everything was ready to go without having to transfer his pistol and mags to his gear.
