Kind of a 3 part question...

A) Stainless
B) Blued
C) Parkerized

First of all what is the difference in "Parkerized" and "Blued" and if given a choice of a handgun.... lets say a 1911 which finish would you get and why?

Id go for Parked myself, blued scratches up easier, atleast to me.

i would prefer a teflon moly OVER park.

Either that or a blackened stainless of some sort.

But what is the difference? Is one more durable than the other?

Blued is a controlled corrosion. Good bluing wont rust. Cheap bluing will. Parkerization is phosphate, normally manganese phosphate, with some other ingredients. If forms a rough, durable finish that tends to hold moisture or oil on the surface. This can be good or bad. Stainless can still rust.

My preference is for NP3 or hard chrome. Metallic plating.

Parked scratches are more noticeable, bluing wears faster, in my experience, and stainless isn't a finish, it can scratch but thats the metal not a finish.
