All the Computers at CNN are shutting down by themselves because of a worm. This just happened.

This is supposed to affect Windows 2000 and earlier versions unless you installed a patch that was just released last week.

It is now affecting all Windows Operating Systems.
CNN is running a Special Report on it now.
You may be able to get a patch at http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
They think the worm is called Zbot.

"Going to CNN" poses no danger no matter what OS you are using unless you mean physically going to a place where the network is infected and plugging your machine in.

ETA - BTW, CNN's Web site is running just fine.

I think this is only affecting CNN, because nobody else, Fox, LAT, NYT is reporting anything out of the ordinary.

Bah...whatever.

Hell, I run two WinXP machines, and STILL don't give a rat's ass about this virus.
Then again, they're locked down very tightly, and the freebsd box acting as a firewall doesn't let much through.

Oh, and the idiot using the machines (me) isn't computer-dumb like most of the sheeple out there.
