It was great how the ABC news reporter gritted her teeth and was forced to report the results of their poll. How marvelous! I noticed that they did not comment on the poll- probably didn't want to call attention to the unsatisfactory results. [beer]

Now, if you could commission a poll that randomly sampled 10,000 people across the US, THEN you'd have data that *might* be worth reporting. -Troy

It is as scientific as any of their polls that supported Clinton. This is as random as any 'random' poll they might take, except that we didn't gear towards certain demographics as they do.

Troy, you can bet your ass that if this had gone the way they wanted it to they would have been crowing about it.

Troy, as often as it was discussed last november, I think we all remember the story about polls and the Hoover/Roosevelt election and all. But, reality is that, while the percentages vary, these polls and scientific polls share the same winner 90 percent of the time. Besides look what just the PERCEPTION of loosing almost did to GW in November.

They were hoping.......too bad for the f**ki morons.....didn`t get any backup for thier "twist"......notice how they spend little time on the true facts?....as when they stated that the actual result of the bill was much better than projected...(by them i guess?)....and was it me, or did the try to portray suzannah hupp in a negative manner?......guess the texas voters feel different......also, two sweet young boys groing up.....not taking sides here but hey....we`ve ALL had a childhood......HOGWASH!!!!!!!

What was it Twain said? Liars figure and figures lie.

That was some incredibly biased leftist reporting today by ABC news. No wonder I never watch TV news anymore! They never mentioned how drunk the two rich kids were, nor did they look for any cases where the rich kids had attacked or beaten someone but not been arrested. They also published incomplete drug tests, and only for one perp. They did not mention John Lott's research, or that fact that for every concealed carry holder who commits a crime there are hundreds of crimes averted. They did not mention that concealed carry holders nationwide are much less likely to be arrested than cops! ABC News sucks. Disney sucks. GunLvr

I believe he also said, "There are liars, damn liars, and statisticians." You can manipulate the wording of any poll to suit your end goal. When the abortion issue is worded "Do you support a woman's right to control her body?" the overwhelming answer is yes. However, when asked "Is it right to kill an unborn child for the convenience of the mother?" The overwhelming response is negative. The ABC poll was particularly skewed because it was worded in such a fashion that CCW were negatively portrayed. The presence of the word "gun" is a dead giveaway. A more neutral poll would have been more like "Yes or No: Law abiding citizens have a right to self protection, including carrying concealed weapons."

This time there was nothing wrong with the wording. The public is tired of gun control, so keying on the word gun was to our benefit.

Internet polls can actually be more meaningful in some respects than a truly scientific random sampling. People who don't care about the issue one way or another are essentially filtered out, leaving only those who are motivated enough to move their wrist and click a button a few times. If people won't even click a few links then it's a safe bet that that issue doesn't register on their voter radar screens.

I just saw an ad that Dan Rather is going to do a hatchet job on guns on Tuesdays evening news. I guess he has to do something. His socialist propaganda machine got scooped by ABC's socialist propaganda machine.

No, he isnt going to do a hatchet job on guns, he is going to do a hatchet job on A gun- the Remington Model 700 safety thing again, they are doing a update on how "the government isnt doing anything to protect us" crap. Personally I havent watched CBS in years, not after they butchered Audi over that "unintended acceleration" crap.

Re Dan Rather, it really is sad to realize how much he has changed over the years. For you young guys who don't know, Rather was a reporter for a Dallas TV station on November 22, 1963, and came to national attention as the CBS Dallas affilliate's on the spot guy at the time of the JFK assasination. Shortly after he got to New York, he came home to find his apartment being burglerized, AND STOPPED THE BURGLER WITH HIS HANDGUN!!!! My how the times have changed!
