I managed to break the "tail" off of the pawl plunger in the trigger assy. on my SP-101 tonight will re-assembling after a detail strip.

I was able to get the pawl plunger spring and the pawl plunger back into place and install the pawl in the trigger assy. and get everything back together.

Functioning and trigger action/cylinder rotation seems fine.

It looks like the only reason the tail is on the pawl plunger is to make it easier to slip it into the pawl plunger spring and then guide the pawl plunger into the hole where it resides.   The pawl plunger then bears against the pawl giving it spring loaded action.

Does the "tail" of the pawl plunger serve any other purpose???

I do plan on ordering the part from Ruger.

Smart Gun Shops give a free Dremel tool and pair of pliers with each gun purchase.

I talked to a reputable gunsmith the other day. He said he always asks if the owner of the weapon owns a Dremel tool as well, if so, the price doubles.
