It's not Uncle Sam's job to make everyone comfortable and happy. It is his job to provide equal protection and opportunity under that law, not by the law. If you are the victim if a thief, rapist, or terrorist, it sucks to be you.

Obviously the government should take care of any injuries they suffered during the terrorist attack, but as far as providing free health care for life to anyone that was there on 9/11… you’ve gotta be shitting me.

I would agree that for the responders (police, fire) and maybe even those that cleaned up the mess it would be fair to cover costs incurred that were associated with them responding to 9/11 for example asbestos or emotional issues. I don't however think we should have to foot the bill cause they had problems unrelated to 9/11 say a broken leg playing baseball.

I'm ok with providing healthcare for ilnesses and injuries resulting from the attack, but not anything else.

no.

the employers of the responders should handle that under wokers compensation laws and insurance. Individual rescuers and responders are on their own IMHO. I would certainly not expect my employer / governement to cover me as a volunteer firefighter if i am injured.

This!

Again!

Now wait, are we going to have a Katrina bill, so that those affected by Katrina get HC for life due to exposure to (enter list of items here) during the floods? Blackwater, some dude from the ninth ward, even say the CHP officers brought in? Dangerous precedent!

Who couldn't see this coming?

As far as the folks that went in there and helped clean up the mess, full of toxic crap with no resparators, I say - go ahead.

To the rest,

I'm cool with my tax dollars going to help people who were personally injured in the attack. I do not think they should be entitled to full spectrum healthcare though, just treatment of injuries received that day.
