Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 96 Blazer ball joints

I've got some bad lower ball joints on my 96 blazer 4wd.  While changing out the lowers (I'll do left and right) should I also do the uppers?

Good point, too many perfectly good ball joints get replaced. The S10's will typically go through two or more lowers before the uppers are bad, but I see guys replace not only the good upper, but the entire other side just because ONE LOWER went bad.

Of course you should thoroughly check the uppers and if they pass inspection just marginally then I would replace them.

I did the lowers yesterday, the uppers were fine.  Those rivets were a pain!
