Nice post!

For the kids too young to remember, it's based upon an old song named "88 Lines about 44 Women" by The Nails.  Supposedly, the lead singer, named Marc Campbell if I remember correctly, claimed that all of the lines were true and after "nailing" the 44th, he changed the name of the group to The Nails.z

Thanks for filling in the reference.  I thought most people heard of it but maybe not (I'm aging myself).

Great, now you've forced me to get-out my notes and dig-out some records. ;)

The Nails is a music group.  They were founded in 1975 in Colorado as a reggae group named The Ravers.  Not long after that, they started playing punk, changed their name, and moved to NYC.  I first found-out about them when I saw them open for The Ramones.  Not long after that, they released their first album in 1977(?) called "Cops are Punks."  They released four(or so, they might have a newer one or obscure one I don't know about) other albums.  Their 1982 album "Hotel for Women" contained the song "88 Lines about 44 Women," which the above post is a parody of.  They made another version of this song and released it on a single.  This version of this song was their only hit.  Their song "Cutting Edge" was a also fan favorite, but I don't think it ever got any radio play.  I always thought these guys would become popular again, since they did ska 15 years before, for example, No Doubt and Reel Big Fish, helped to make it popular, but it didn't happen.z

PS: If anyone has any of their complete albums on MP3 and you're willing to share, please let me know.  While I have the records, I don't have a record player at work.
