I've heard an armagazine will also work with 7.62 rounds in a regular 30 round mag. Anyone know anything about this?

yeah but you can only load about 4 rounds before it fails

MGW ten round magazines will feed 10 rounds. There is also and abortion of a design featuring an AR top welded onto a high cap AK bottom iece, and it works pretty good, I guess.

You can use a 20 round mag for 7.62.  You get 7-8 rounds in them.  The Colt 7.62 mags are exactly the same as a regular 20 rd mag except for the markings.
