Wanted to give these biscuits a try. Pretty easy to make.

Recipe

I made a half batch.

The Jiffy mix, sour cream and 7UP.

Melt some butter in a pan. Bake for 10 or 12 min.

Got the sausage browned. Also started some Potatoes O'Brien.

Biscuits are done.

I don't measure anything with gravy. Just add enough flour to soak up the grease, no need to remove the sausage. Simmer a couple minutes. Add half & half till it's the right thickness. Black pepper and some red pepper flakes.

Biscuits have a moist texture. Although they were good, I think I'll stick with the traditional buttermilk biscuits.

Don't know how I feel about that. The look good. Of course, anything smothered in sausage gravy is pretty good.

Was just told about the 7up idea.
Had a friend who said his grandma used to use it in her cakes.

Ide hit it. What specifically didn't trip your trigger about the biscuit recipe?

Looks good. I have to ask if you are eating on a picnic table though? If not, 1974 called and they want their kitchen decor back.

I think it may have been the sour cream taste. They were still good though.

With gusto, though I suspect I would also prefer traditional buttermilk biscuits.
