Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 6mm BR or 260 Remington?

I just gave my gunsmith A Remington 700VS in .22-250.He is going to do the usual accuracy upgrades for this gun and I will shoot it as it is the rest of summer and fall. However as A winter project I would like to rebarrel to 260 Remington (6.5 by 308). My gunsmith suggested to go to 6mm BR instead. Anybody out there used these two calibers? The gun would be used for A variety of purposes from paper punching to perhaps some varminting.
