San Francisco? It seems to me that a lot of people are thin there because of AIDS.

Hey, it's even better! Texas has 4 out of the top *6*! Apparently everything IS bigger in Texas. Top 25 Fattest Cities: Detroit Houston Dallas San Antonio Chicago Fort Worth Philadelphia Arlington, Va. Cleveland, Ohio Columbus, Ohio Atlanta Mesa, Ariz. Oklahoma City Kansas City Miami Las Vegas Indianapolis Phoenix Tulsa, Okl. Memphis, Tenn. New York New Orleans Baltimore El Paso, Texas Washington, D.C. The Milwaukee Journal Jan 2, 2004 http://www.themilwaukeechannel.com/..._12000101022004 Detroit Claims Fattest-City Crown Houston has dropped to No. 2 on the Men's Fitness magazine list of fattest cities in America. Detroit moved to the top spot. Houston civic leaders credit initiatives started under Mayor Lee Brown's "Get Lean Houston" program. Several other Texas cities are challenging for the title. Dallas ballooned from last year's ninth-fattest city to third. San Antonio went from No. 13 to No. 4, and Fort Worth jumped from 16th to sixth. Men's Fitness has published the list for six years. It looks at 50 cities in 14 categories, such as air quality, climate and commute time. It also determines the ratio of fast-food and pizza restaurants to health clubs and sporting goods stores. The report will appear in the magazine's February issue, which hits newsstands this month.

I admit, I'm surprised to see Miami. I suppose that they must mean Dade county as a whole, becaues the miami beach area is all image. But, if you include all the ghetto folks (white rednecks, black welfarecases, and the hispanics) you'd get to some serious tonnage.

There are white rednecks in Dade county? When did that boat come in? In all seriousness Norman74, I have noticed your frequent public disdain for the gravitationally challenged. Why the beef with fatties? Did some fat chick rub you the wrong way during your formitive years? Give us the skinny!

I knew this guy visiting from New York who when riding in his cab to his hotel in Cincinnati and seeing the populace lumbering around, he said he felt like he was in the middle of a Far Side cartoon. I thought that was pretty funny.

A lot of people see being fat as indicative of lack of self-respect. I agree with this to some extent...but it is not always true.
Link Posted: 1/3/2004 11:57:40 AM EDT
WOW! Jackson, Mississippi wasn't in a list for something bad... I'll be damned.
