Hey guys thought I would start your week off with a cool little video I made shooting a CMU cinder block at a distance of 500 yards. I know it's not some really cool trick shot but I wanted to show the ballistic effect of what would happen at 500 yards and I think your going to like what you see. Hope you enjoy the video!

338 Lapua vs cinder block at 500 yards!

Nice. You should try it against solid concrete or a double-layered brick wall.

Same thing I was thinking. I would love to see how a filled cinder block would fare. Thanks for the video. In the beginning of a slow full custom .338 build.

That's exactly what I want to do, I'll probably wait till I can score some cutting edge solids to show the difference between the FMJ and the copper solid rounds. I bet solids would really do the damage we want to see!

My 300 winmag does pretty much the same thing to a cinder block.  I know you've got an advantage on heavier cover, but on a cinder block it's pretty much the same.

Cool videos! I wonder if site staff can change our join date to something non-13er?

It has been said before, but you are by far the best 13'r we have here. You other 13'rs should pay attention!

How much does your stock rifle cost?
And comparisons of 338LM to 50BMG?

My guess is it will do basically the same thing from as far away as you can hit it. But it will be fun to watch too. And good practice for you! What is your maximum shooting range?

Save the brass for a reloader.....that is some high dollar stuff.........

Would be nice to have something behind the target to see what remains of the projectile and how lethal it remains. Some stacked 2x12s or similar.

Cool video.

The stock rifle savage 110ba cost me $1900, I believe you can find single shot 50 BMG in the $3000 range from Serbu, but the 50 BMG's will always weigh a little more.

Why don't you guys ever fill the blocks with sand or cement?

Try that!

Thanks!  I've marked out spots as far as 3000 yards and I could shoot further if I had something that would shoot accurately that far. Probably maximum would be 4000 yards out here.

I actually learned to reload when I got this 338 lapua, factory ammo would have cost WAY too much, plus I get to tailor the powder charge for this rifle.
