We had a big crowd tonight and went through about $120 dollars of candy in under two hours.  Simply amazing.  The kids were pretty well behaved and a few even knew their manners well.

Success of the night: sprinkling the driveway with leftover Snap-N-Pops from July 4th.  Most of the kids were too light to set them off but it scared the crap out of the parents and was quite hilarious.

Did anyone get more kids than this?

We had quite a few also.

We live in a safe / well lit golf course community which is ideal for the kids to trick or treat. As usual I would say 25% of the kids who knocked at the door were van pooled in from the lesser desirable neighborhoods.

I obviously don't blame the kids and I kinda understand the parents perspective in wanting a safe place for their kids to trick or treat.

Would have been alot cheaper to have gone out for a couple hours, that's for sure.

Here in Ansley Park (really nice neighborhood in downtown Atlanta, adjoining Piedmont Park) the police block off the whole area to vehicular traffic other than residents.  People from all over town bring their kids.  We had cops riding around on motorcycles at a leisurely pace being friendly with the parents (and not giving a damn about everyone having a beer in their hand).  I would say only 25% are actually from our neighborhood.  Last year we only had 250 kids or so.  I want to break 400 next year.

I think we got a whopping five of them, all in one group.

Gee, whatever shall I do with these four bags of candy?
