Spent some time in Afghanistan last year at this time and it was a VERY sobering sight to see a flag draped casket being loaded into the back of a C-17. Our Helo's were parked right next to the pad where this took place. I could help but think "but for the grace of God, there go I."

Afghanistan gets so little press these days. It’s probably because we’ve helped that country immeasurably.
