24 in real time? - AR15.COM

Can someone explain how this show works? First time watching and I like it.
But when it started the show said 7AM. And now at the first commercial it says 7:15am. The ex-president was assinated, it was all on the news already and they knew what he was show with in 15 minutes? If Jack is in hiding somewhere far away, How would he even be able to come back to LA or where ever they are if each show is an hour in real time? I got to be missing something here.

show's in real time. 4 minute commercial break, action resumes 4 minutes later. etc.

it's like a drug - you won't be able to tear yourself away.

yeah but some of their time fames are pretty incredible, like when they can drive from one location in LA to another in five minutes....

Yeah the drive times are a stretch. You do have to forego reality a little bit. Besides, sometimes they ride in black helicopters that can go from point A to point B real quick.
