which one is better for target shooting? does the extra 4" really make a difference? what are the pros & cons on both. thanx...

You'll get more velocity out of the 24". Most dedicated target rifles have 24" or 26" heavy barrels. Now, if you want something you can carry around as well, maybe a 20" match rifle with a standard barrel is a better deal. Less weight is better in that case.

Depends on the kind of course you're shooting on. Our club has NRA sponsored high power matches but only has a 200yd range... so the last two targets are sized smaller to simulate 300 & 600 yds which is what you would normally shoot the last two target at. If you're really shooting 300 & 600 yd courses, 24" is gonna help. I find the 20" fine for 200-300yds... I actually shot the 1st three matches this year with a 16"
