If i have to pick one......Steppenwolf
Not real thrilled with the selection |
Mine's pretty much the same, with the exception that I voted for The J Geils Band instead of Steppenwolf.
You left out a bunch of nominees.
I'm going with Depeche Mode |
None of the above and while we're at it lets take a bunch out that dont deserve it.
Steppenwolf, Journey & Yes for sure. The others, not so much.
They need to rename it from the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" to the "Music Hall of Fame"
'Cause half the nominees on that list aren't Rock. Actually, the fact that Bad Brains are on the list makes it a joke of the whole thing, and I like Bad Brains. |
What a terrible selection. I'm surprised that all of those classic rock bands aren't already in there.
I've never even heard of some of those diversity candidates... |

View Quote Phenomenal arrangement and the band is tighter than a 20 y/o Japanese girl's ass. |

I'd personally like to see:
ELO JOURNEY THE CARS YES DEPECHE MODE I could see JOAN BAEZ, PEARL JAM, KRAFTWERK and STEPPENWOLF being there, as well. Honorable Mention for me, JANE'S ADDICTION. Perry Farrell rocks. Chris |

Phenomenal arrangement and the band is tighter than a 20 y/o Japanese girl's ass. I've seen those. ELO was heir apparent to The Beatles. Sadly the popular music of the era was changing, disco, new wave. They kinda got lost in the shuffle. |

Never dug into ELO's stuff very deep but have always enjoyed / respected the shit out of what I have. Maybe time. |

My list (in order of preference determined by who had the most positive and long-lasting impact on popular music, IMHO):
1. MC5 2. The Cars 3. Kraftwerk 4. Pearl Jam 5. Tupac Note: These are not my favorite bands in the list. If we do it by the "most likely to end up in the WSUB rotation" standard, it looks like: 1. Steppenwolf 2. The Cars 3. Yes 4. ELO 5. Journey There's some overlap. |

View Quote I have no problem with those 5, although, having to choose a #1, from that selection, I'd pick Yes looking at the others, J.Geils, Depeche Mode and The Zombies made a significant contribution during their prime, J. Geils is still relevant, but more on the Blues scene. I'd still pick on of the OP's selection before them. overall, I don't really care.. It took 'em forever to recognize RUSH, and up to the point where they were actually inducted, R&RHOF was bs and irrelevant, given those who were already inducted, when hundreds of others were more worthy. |

The entire HOF is retarded. Bob Marley made it in before Led Zep.

My list: Steppenwolf MC5 ELO Yes Journey Steppenwolf and MC5 are the 2 most deserving. |
