Will they be running snow treads? If it keeps up they may have to. I am about 100 miles north of the track and it will be 19 degrees F here tonight. Brrrrrr. |

Head for Daytona tomorrow to get my credentials and get checked into the hotel.
We start practice on Thursday. Hope to have some pictures to post on Thursday evening. |

I hope there's some teams left to show up and race. Must everything be negative? |

Rolex 24 is the best. Numerous makes and they actually look like showroom cars.
Looking forward to this year's pics Larry. Are the NASCAR driving this year? Love the Rolex!!!!!! |

The Daytona Prototypes are a bit odd looking, but man, it makes for some close racing. As open-wheel gets more and more pay-to-play, it seems like all the good road racers are migrating to tin-tops. I can't wait for the green flag. For the OP; do you have an affiliation with one of the teams? GO McDONALD'S! GO #77!

While the DPs do offer close racing and all that, I still prefer ALMS for the technology.

Kind of sad, first time in approx 5 years I won't be working there. Pulling for Michael Shank Racing in DP and JLowe Racing in GT.

Well, back to the track. More practice and qualifying and the KONI race this afternoon.

I enjoy posting them and having an EVDO card in my laptop even lets me post them while I am at the track. I will take you to the Wing House when you come down. Good stuff and the gals are better than Hooters. |

Great photos Larry! Thanks for taking the time to post 'em up.
You've got a f-a-s-t shutter ... what's your axe? |

Great photos Larry! Thanks for taking the time to post 'em up. You've got a f-a-s-t shutter ... what's your axe? What's my axe? If you are referring to the night pics, those were done with my OLD Sony DSC-F707 in auto mode. It has always been good in low light and it even has night vision. No, seriously. I haven't figure out how to take night shots well with my 2 DSLRs. I gotta read the manuals. |

Oh, shi-
Some of the vintage cars from their parade laps this morning: <snip> I remember when most of those cars were new! Thanks for all of these, but especially the PLN 935! |

What class of race cars are pictured? (With a brief description pls)
The center cockpit ones are kinda cool. NN |

I will give a description of all them when I get home, but right now I am posting from an air card on the corner and am about to go on duty in a few minutes. I am gonna post a few quick pics from the first couple of laps then sign off. |

Is that it for Corvettes? One? Yep, and it's a privateer. The factory Corvettes are in ALMS. |

hey, were those F104s that flew overhead at the start? Either F5s, F22s, or T38s, not sure which. |

Awesome Larry. Keep em' coming. Are you camping? Had a hotel Wed night, Thu night, Fri night. Slept in my truck last night since my shift ended at 0030 and had to be back on duty at 0630. Slept in the back of the truck at the corner station. |

This thread is about racing, not rasslin'. Precisely my point NASCAR sucks donkey balls and Indy Car is lame... F1 is best for open wheel and IMSA/SCCA needs to be expanded so that 95% of Americans can see that most of the world's racing goes left AND right |

Is that it for Corvettes? One? I have no idea why but GM could care less about this race. It's always been the "other" sportscar race in Florida and Daytona has a redneck image that a lot in the sport shy away from. |

The car is 23rd overall, 12th in class. The #42 and 43 Team Sahlen Corvettes made 24 and 0 laps, respectively. Don't feel too bad. The sole Ferrari, #52 Coast-2-Costa F.430 is currently 40th overall/25th in class, only 342 laps down. I don;t think they're on track right now. |

Awesome pics, thanks for posting! Especially the vintage ones!
