New to the forum and am starting a search for info.  Last "assault" rifle that I purchased was a pre-ban FNC.

I thought it was a rather simple matter to buy or assemble something close to what I need. But, alas, apparently not.  I am getting conflicting info.  I want to be legal and not even on the line or close to it.

I wanted a 16 or 18 inched barrel (shortest allowed by law), collapsible stock (I am told you can buy one, but not install it), a ramp that accepts an Aimpoint and if possible, a front stock with a handle that projects downward (not sure of the correct term for this) but am told it is not legal as it is a pistol grip.

S0...can I get there from here?  Am I relegated to looking for a pre-ban gun that has a price that is artificially high due to the low supply and high demand?

Thanks for the replies and advice?

Thanks. The replies have helped a lot. Every day I am finding out what I am going to have to buy and what I can add and what I need to avoid.

I really enjoy the site. Much more info than I expected, on many subjects.
