last minute wrenching....finished right at dark.

2 sprockets
1 chain
Pelican 1440 rear box
4" PVC pipe for a tool tube
New Tire and tube (D606)
2 rocker arm 0-ring seals
1 rocker cover seal (RVT)
2 sets of brakes
2 fork seals
1 oil change
Had to remount my racks for the 1550 side boxes
1 rear brake light switch

oh yeah....I had to lace up an 18" rim and true it.

I was supposed to leave yesterday...

Wow. I am inspired. I'm taking a ride soon. About half as long and not on a dirtbike but I've been anxious. I can't imagine 1600 miles on a dirtbike seat and knobby tires. I bet that thing wants to wheelie in every gear when its all loaded down.

No wind screen, embrace the bugs/rain/rocks and the pounding of the wind! Did it a lot as a younger man but I couldn't do it now, grab some earplugs and have a safe trip.

Good looking setup btw.

Very very cool- hat's off to you, sir

Watch the road surfaces well running those knobbies, I know from experience that the line between drift and slide is pretty thin

Stay safe, and check in often. With photos, of course.

The fan switch took a dump, 'bout boiled over the ol gal.
I wired a toggle I had on the dash into it...problem solved.

wellllll..... I didn't get going as soon as I wanted. Left around 0930 or so.

Had to stop off and pay my insurance......as I was in there the girl at the counter yelled for "so and so" to help her out. Out walks a fella in bidness causual...I look at him and I was like , I know this guy...BAM! It was a guy I went to HS with who rode to school with me everyday and went to our Grad. party. Had not seen him since 3 days after June 12 1987. I sat and yapped with him for about an hour or so.

This ADV is gonna be a good one!

So off I go heading west.

I get to Lumberton and run into Ron_NC (ADV Member)......another hour shot, but well wasted.

My route was to run across Hwy 9 in SC as Hwy 74 in NC is way too populated. I get to Cheraw,SC about 4pm and stop for a sammich.
Bojanges chicken sammich . I no longer than walk out and I see a DRZ SM tearing across the gravel parking lot, guy was ATTGATT...must be an ADV'er. YUP! He was an ADV lurker........somehow he knew who I was........so we shot the shit for about 45min. and off I go.

I was gonna take Hwy 9 and head back up to the south western end of NC and hit Telico, then down into Ga. and then to AL. It did not quite work out that way as I ended up going through Spartanburg, SC and then Greenville SC...which I ended up there about 2000hrs. I needed to find a place to pitch a tent, and soon, I was gettin' tared.
I ended up about 10 miles south of Clemson.
It is now right at midnight. Long day, but fun
I was not abut to pay $15 to pitch a tent for 7 hours....

soooooo.....

I found me a cool spot.

Wake up to some fresh coffee, stout enough to make yer hair stand up

yes, there was no evidence I was even there when I left.
