hey everyone-

i have acquired 1,000 dollars in various ways, i have sold my FAL, AK47, and some other things and have saved up money to buy a new firearm. I'm 19, soon 20, so handguns are out of the picture- but i'm thinking about getting an ar15, maybe a 22 rifle, or a shotgun. I believe that an ar15 will give me the most satisfaction at a firing range and with being able to add countless accessories. I'm looking to see what others would think about using 1,000 dollars on firearms, what to get, and what type of setup i should use with the money. Also what brand to buy. Thanks much, pictures would be great-

Well they ain't making any more original M1's...

And M2 ball is still relatively cheap.

BUT the AR platform will give you a LOT of bang for the buck. Very versatile!

Any of the abc manufacturers will do (Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt) there are several other very good makers.

Get a Bushmaster carbine and be satisfied. You can get the M1 later. A comes before M.

I'd use the cash to buy back the fal and ak

It depends on the person. I've spent over $2,000 on my AR, but I still prefer the $500 M1

Bushmaster and Rock River will serve you well. They will do everything you ask of them and are more accurate than you or I would ever need.

Look around the AR15 discussion forum for ideas on what variant you'd like.
Most folks seem to go for the M4gery for a first AR.

Spend the remaining money on USGI mags and ammo, then shoot the shit out of it.
Proficiency will soon follow. So will the sickness!

Post pics when you get your goat!

• Buy an Arfcom team membership

• Sign up (quickly!) for the 2005 SEBR

• Save another $200 and buy an EOtech or Aimpoint and a BUIS

• Enjoy your new BRD.

• Oh, and join the NRA
