Here is my 1996 Z28 that I am thinking of selling.  It was purchased by me in spring of 1997 and has been babied ever since.  It only has 33,600 miles on it and has not seen rain (or even washed) since 1999.  I will post a list of all of the mods that have been done.  I have been out of the Camaro circuit for a while and I wouldn't know where to begin on the price.  Do you think that $13,000 would be too high, even with all that I have done?

Here are the Mods:

Dynojet results

Motor:   300.3RWHP   314.RWTQ

Black 1996 Z-28, 6spd with Pro 5.0 and Lou's Short Stick and MBA knob, K&N cold air, Holley 58MM TB, Granatelli Mass Air Flow sensor with polished ends.  Crane valve springs, Comp hardened push rods w/guide plates, Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers.  Hooker ceramic coated long tubes with 3" Hooker Y pipe, SLP Dual/Dual Cat back with Dynomax bullet in Intermediate Pipe.  MSD 6A, MSD coil, MSD plug wires, NGK TR55 plugs. March underdrive pulleys.  Auto meter electric Fuel pressure gauge in pod and Scanmaster. Granatelli 255lph in tank pump.  Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator.  6AN braided fuel lines rerouted from factory location.  DMS drop springs, BMR control arms, adj. panhard rod.  Spohn weld-on lower control arm relocating brackets.  Enkei Win wheels with 275/40/17's in front and 315/35/17's in back.  Polished aluminum radiator cover, polished aluminum valve covers, polished aluminum Vortech elbow, chrome alternator, ceramic coated intake with ported runners and TB openings to 58MM, ceramic coated water pump housing with Mezeire Electric water pump, ceramic coated accessories bracket.

Very nice.  id be interested in it. NOt sure on the price. YOu rarely get the money back for the mods and time. So what is a reg. 1996 camaro worth? Also is this the SLP package?

Very nice for a 12 Y.O car! Like stated, you won't get back what you put into it unless it was a substantial mod (New 502, etc.). It ought to fetch a good amount when you sell.

In this market, you won't get what you want for it.

I just sold my 98 Z28 that I had all the bolt ons done and a new performance tranny with a 3200 stall and I took a $1500 hit to sell it.

I don't think you will get $13,000 for it but who knows. Its probably one of the nicest LT1 cars I have seen.

OK, that's what I was wondering (and afraid of).

No, it's not the SLP package, just the standard Z28.

I sold my 97 Z28 with bolt ons and a very nice Alpine system for $7800 2 years ago. It has 35000 miles and factory chrome wheels with new rubbers. Not nearly as nice as yours under the hood but a similar vehicle

very nice car, but I doubt you would be able to get more than 8k for it.

I'm thinking $8k would be the high end.

If you would have put it for sale last year it would bring a higher dollar.  But the economy tanked and people started flooding the market with their fbody's so they would have cash for a new camaro.

just my 2 cents.

Wow that's one really nice LT1 car. Unfortunately, market is bad, Camaros don't go for as much as the Trans Ams (unless it was an SS), and LT1 cars don't go for much because so many LS1 cars have become cheap also.

The low miles, 6 speed, and beautiful condition help a lot though. I say you could get 9-10 out of it.

It's a $7500 car regardless of mods. You NEVER get back money on mods made to a car.

And I will also be the one to ask........................ How have you gone 10 years without washing the car? If you ever took it out, it got dust and road grime on it. I sure as hell hope you don't say "well I just used a California duster" on it.

It gave me chills to think about the swirls such in that paint if what you say is true.

Try asking on one of the enthusiast Camaro boards like www.camaroz28.com or www.ls1tech.com (has a good amount of LT1 owners too).  Heck put a forsale add up on both sites.

It would have to be just the right buyer to get over 8-9000 IMO but maybe I'm underestimating the market.

5500 or best

I have, LS1tech.com has a section for it, I just thought that I would ask here also since this is a non-car related board.

At 13 Grand, you can get an LS1. I wouldnt ask for more than 8-9, if even that. Yes it's a nice car, but it's just not worth 13.

hate to say it as it is a beautiful car

but I agree
6K is probably more realistic

I have seen a few nice and reasonably low mileage cars ( not quite as nice as yours though ) going for 3-4K

even Ls1 cars any more can be had for well under 10K

nice car man.  if i were in the market i'd definitely want it.  mind keeping it for about 3-4 years and then selling it to me?  lol

on a side note, those power numbers seem low to me given the mods done.

that is a nice car!

Hold on to it another 10 years. While we are all driving our battery powered 45hp cars you can have a Z28.

No, not really.  Those are rear wheel HP numbers from a chasis dyno.  300 RWHP for a bolt on LT1 is fairly good, at a 15% loss through the drivetrain, the would make it approx. 345HP.  I had installed a TNT nitrous kit and only dyno tested it.  It made 443 RWHP and 514 RWTQ.  Never ran it on the street or at the track with the TNT kit.

I'm selling my '00 B4C Camaro right now and I finally, after 4 months, found a buyer @ $5k. It's NOWHERE as nice as your car but I would think you could get in the 8-9K range. If I didn't HAVE to get rid of mine I wouldn't. Good luck with the sale.

I'd say that it's going to stay in my garage covered, as it has been for the past few years.

Hahaha!!

It never gets driven in the rain, or on bad roads, so It doesn't get very dirty.  I just use a California car duster to dust it off, then use a quick detailer to clean it and show car polish when needed.  Most people at car shows can't believe that it's the factory paint since it looks so deep and wet!

How did I know you were going to say that

Just the thought of you doing that makes someone such as myself who has detailed many hundreds of vehicles shiver.

Yeah, the paint looks deep, wet, and full of spiderwebs.

I know, you're right, but with two kids and working overtime and keeping up around the house, it's hard to find the time to get out in it.  Before you know it, you just walk by it, covered up and don't think anything of it.

Sure there is, I want it.

Been looking for a camaro that is well cared for, this one seems to be the case. As long as the Ttops dont leak, im all over it. Fly out, drive back, yip its all good.

But price does dictate all.

Nice car.  I bought a Black/Black M6 T-top Z-28 when I was in college. Unfortunately I put 87k miles on mine (a quarter mile at a time, LOL, but really, I beat that car up!).  I had a lot of fun in it but traded it on a new VW Jetta GLX VR6 in 2000.

I really miss the Camaro, but so far out of the 10+ cars I have owned, the Jetta GLX has been the best all around car I have ever owned.

That grumbling/popping LT1 with the T-tops off and a 18 year old girl in the front seat on the way to the drag strip is pretty hard to forget though.
