There are a lot of good smiths out there for the 1911.

If you want a GREAT smith, call Teddy Jacobsen down here in the Houston area (www.actionsbyt.com).  He is a member of prestigious American Pistolsmiths Guild, and does majic with actions and just about anything else.

Of course, Larry Vickers wouldn't be a bad choice either (another APG member), but he might be a tad expensive and backed-up on work...his full-house guns sell for something like $5,000.
