[ARCHIVED THREAD] - 18-wheeler explodes on I-20 (video)

Traffic on Interstate 20 in Southeast Dallas ground to a halt this afternoon after an 18-wheeler burst into flames. The truck is blocking westbound lanes of I-20 on the bridge over Interstate 45; Dallas Fire-Rescue crews are on scene trying to extinguish the 18-wheeler and several areas of grass near the bridge that also caught fire. Multiple large explosions could be seen coming from the truck.

Ouch! What kind of cargo was the truck carrying? Some type of petro-chemicals? If that happened in L.A. it would have caused a massive traffic jam lasting for hours.

Remember when that happened about ten years ago on 35E and Spring Valley (?).

Nobody noticed until the next day that the bridge was warped from the heat. Had to completely rebuild it.

That's happened twice to bridges in Birmingham in the last few years. Had to completely rebuild them each time, heat from the fire had them twisted up terrible......
