the only advantage of the 17HM2 is that you can convert an existing .22lr rifle to that caliber with minor mods like a new barrel.
if you are getting a brand new gun I would definitely get the 17HMR |

17HMR.
Advertised at 2550 fps. for the Hornady ammo, don't know barrel length. I have Marlin 917 V, $187 at Wally World...Love it. Danny

My cousin has one in I think a Taurus revolver with an aimpoint on it (yeah I know it is dumb) but to quote him "This gun really fucks shit up."

At $90 for the rifle, I think it is a pretty damn good deal, at least for around here. |

Why is it that I only see bolt action and revolver .17HMRs? Are they ever gonna have a semi-auto version(preferably with detachable magazine) in the near future? Because it's a fun caliber.

In fact it'd be great if they they made an "AW" type .17 HMR since I don't believe it'd be covered under the CA bullshit weapon ban. |

here's mine a Marlin 917vs w/Burris 20x fullfield 2
Marlin have Green mtn barrels and will shoot . 3/4" moa or better out of the box. I would advise at least a 14x power scope. rimfirecentral.com has all the info you need for any rimfire

www.eabco.com/102208.html I put one of their mach 2 barrels on my 10/22 and it's become my favorite plinker. The mach2 ammo is about 1/2 the price of the HMR and still does the job for me.. |
