Made this quick youtube video of a clip I had from this saturday's Patriot Run event here in south Florida. The run went from Miami FL - Islamorada FL and finished off with a car show on the shore. It was a blast and was also all for a good cause.

I don't see 1 muscle car in any of those pics

LOL>>.I was getting ready to post the exact same thing, Just a bunch of store bought mustangs with a few modded fox bodies.

Cool car show and neat that it went to a good cause, but title misleading is still title misleading.

"Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles. The term refers to American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars equipped with large, powerful, V8s, and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally."

You know what you're right, same fucking thing...

No....Mustangs, Camaro's, and their like were considered small cars during their first generations..... a mid size would be a GTO, Malibu, Fairlane,Charger...etc...

Especially since the term 'PONYCAR' was specifically named for the FORD MUSTANG.
GD ingnorance is 'rampant' in this thread...of course, not too many would understand the term 'ramapant' in reference to a HORSE, specifically a COLT, which is what the COLT logo is all about.

I dedicate the new term 'HOT ROD NAZI' for threads like this in ARFCOM's future.

'Murica?

I ran across a convoy of probably 20,000 Harley's headed to ground zero today. They had official escort from at least 5 sheriffs departments that I counted and had half a dozen ambulances trailing the convoy. It took them 20+ minutes to all pass the intersection, flying POW/MIA, American and MAC/SOG flags.

I don't see a single pony car.

Someone needs to tell the auto makers Arfcom's definition then.

Alright so just so I'm clear on how I should look at things...

The Modern GTO (Curb weight: 3725lbs, width 72.5"), Current Malibu (3600lbs in a 4 door, 73") are "Medium" size cars.

Soooo the Current Camaro ZL1 (4120lbs, 75.5) and the GT500 (3850lbs, 73.9") are "Small" cars

GOT IT!

I didn't miss anything, Here is the part you missed, but to be fair I wasn't completely clear.

If the term "muscle car" is so set and defined to what makes and models fit the bill from their first generation and auto makers continue to change the target demographic of your said "muscle cars" like the Malibu, or Charger etc. then your definition is drastically flawed. Eventually you will end up with a couple soccer mom 4 doors in your garage telling everyone all about your "muscle car" family road trip.

The whole rest of the world would call a current GT500 or ZL1 a muscle car, and with a ridiculous supercharged V8 in a two door that is not very small who is to argue. Maybe the arfcom muscle car snobs might argue but not very many others.

Finished up a video of the whole trip down (at 8x speed) to Islamorada the other night, if any of you have 11 mins to kill. I backed it with some decent music so it's not so boring.

I worked for Edelbrock's race team..

1963 split window z06 corvette, George Follmer's 1969 Boss 302, Smokey Yunich's 1970 camero ( the one that got him kick out), 2 1965 Shelby GT350's and junior Johnson's "yellow bannana"

All in better condition then when they rolled off the line and raced hard every weekend.....

Those are muscle cars...
