I work down on the Saint Louis Landing and last night coming home from work they were setting up bleachers and barricades. We have a fourth of July thing here in the same spot and the set up prep looked just like that. I have no doubt that their numbers are correct. This town, or should I say certain elements in this town, are goofy for Obama. In the areas I drive through daily I see an Obama sign every other lawn. You'd think people got $100 bills for putting them up you see so many.

BUT

I am seeing more and more McCain signs lately. You used to see none, now I'm seeing them far more often. You drive through one neighborhood and you see nothing but Obama, you drive through another and you see nothing but McCain... and the further away from the city you get the more the shift occurs. This burg has been of a split personality for decades... then again depending on who you talk to we also hold the claim of "most racially segregated town in America". Saint Louis city also has a recent history of voter irregularities (read possible fraud).

If Missouri goes blue, I have no doubt it will be because of Saint Louis. Once again BUT I have faith that the conservative tilt the counties have will neutralize the city. The best thing that can happen is for the two sides to cancel each other out here locally, which leaves the rest of the state, other than Kansas City. If KC can break even as well the rest of the middle tilts red... always... and this is pretty much how Missouri has gone red for the past elections.

It's all about balance here. McCain doesn't have to win Saint Louis and KC, he just has to tie and let the rest of the rural, conservative state carry him.

I thought it was a Billy Joel Concert.

A real Obama rally has about 200 people.

He's insanely popular among most people.

Most people believe what they want to believe irregardless of evidence.

Obama tells people he'll give them free everything.  People want to believe that, so they do.

There's your reasons.

One factor is he uses Twitter to contact the drones. It texts or emails all those that sign up to 'follow' him. A lot of weak minded blind followers use Twitter.

I'd wager you that Obama was going to win in a landslide, but I lost all my wealth in a tragic boating accident.
