I have been slowly redoing my a/v stuff in the house. I have a ton of DVD's that I don't want to get rid of. But I have a new 4k tv. Will an upconvert DVD player work to give me something better than 1080p? Currently I don't have anything plugged in the 4k HDMI port because my cable provider only does 1080i (Comporium). I am streaming Amazon, etc. in 4k.
I also would need to somehow convert either digital out to coax or run a coax out. My surround is through a Russound whole home amp (6 zone) and I bluetooth the TV and DVD player to it. I use the lip sync function on the tv to sync live tv and the DVD.
No, I don't own bluray, mainly because I don't have a gaming system or want to replace my kid's Disney DVD collection with blueray. Although perhaps a DVD/bluray player would be my best bet.
Thoughts?
