My work just bought me an iPhone.  What are the good ballistics programs available?

I'm wondering ho many people buy it, and can actually use it for bettering their shooting.

Shooting?  Who uses a ballistics app for that?  Booooring.

I use it to beat other less connected people into submission when they start claiming X has more energy than Y at such and such distance.

Besides, it makes pretty pictures.

I enjoy 3d gun disassembly...kinda fun (Free) app that comes with interactive disassembly diagrams for G17, 1911, sig 229, and a few others...neat little app.

I use ballistic charts at 3 gun matches to better engage targets out to 500 yards.

I could carry around a stack of paper ballistic charts instead, but what's the point when my iphone is already in my pocket anyway?

On the off chance, does the KAC app have an NSN number?  Or is it provided free with a rifle sold to the services from KAC?

It's an excellent app, to be sure.  Just wondering there might be additional reasons it is so popular in the military crowd.

I have BulletFlight and Ballistics FTE and I like both.  I think BulletFlight is the easier, more simple to use app and that goes a long way.  I like some of the other features of Ballistics though when it's target shooting.

Bulletflight and Ballistic are both good. I've heard some claim Ballistic FTE provides more accurate dope, but I've gotten great results from Bulletflight by using temp and station pressure instead of altitude.

I thought there was an issue with the iPhone in certain zones because of the non-removable battery. Just something I read

I'm using shooter on my EVO and have really grown to quite like it.  I like it better than Ballistic on the iPhone when I had it.  One question on Shooter, I've got a lot of data in it, is there a way to extract it into my computer?  There's a web backup, but it doesn't appear that there's any way for you to actually access the web data once it's copied from the phone to wherever on the web it backs it up.

Actually....

A recent study conducted by research firm Nielson has revealed that women prefer Apple's iOS while men tend to favour for Google's Android platform.

MD Ballistics! I have it, too. Very nice, both the app and the gesture!
