Life can be rough for some people. Even for a pretty girl in New York City. In fact, life's roughness can sometimes be documented visually through the mugshots in your criminal arrest record.

Sad, looks like the cumulative effects of booze, hardcore drugs, and maybe prostitution. But for the grace of God that could be somebody you grew up with or a relative (It is for someone that's for sure).

long term abuse.  after several years, the swelling associated with facial wounds from severe beatings will not subside.  it never fully recovers after each episode and the effects accumulate.

saw a program on tv once interviewing an abuse victim.  she looked nothing like the photos of her BEFORE the abuse started.

sad really.

I am very happy to announce that the young person in the mug shots above went on to become one of the hottest guitar players of all time. Can you see the resemblence in the last pic?

Damned, you can almost see the life draining from her eyes as time goes bye.  You can almost tell the point where it went from having fun getting into trouble... to "hey itz mi hit, passss thu neadle".

Lil' honey partied a little too much.  But we all know it's the firearms that are the real menace to society.  (Yes, that was sarcasm).

I agree with Troy, but will add that ending this "war on drugs" will greatly reduce, if not put an end to those "no knock" warrants that have a tendency to get innocent people shot. The militarization of civilian police can be blamed in part on this "war on drugs".

I also agree with ending the War on Drugs for all the previous reasons posted.  However, anyone who things a drug user is only harming themselves is full of crap!!  Look at the girls picture again and then think of the suffering her family and friends went thru, she may even had kids!!  So more then one person was victomized, plus society as a whole always will pay one way or another.

I agree.  Simply ending the "war on drugs" isn't enough.  Restoring the right of self protection to law abiding citizens and refusing to coddle those who choose to medicate themselves needs to happen at the same time.

plus all the drug cartels that would be out of business and gangs that would lose alot of funding. would there be more abuse? maybe but i dont think people are going to rushing out to do heroin because its finally legal. pot, pills, maybe cocain. at the very least marajuana should be legal. i get pissed every time i see somebody doing long terms for pot when lester the molester walks after a few years because hes cured. yeh right

100% correct Bigshooter!!

I know from hands on experience that the more you coddle a drug user or alcholic the less chance they have of ever stopping.  People will never change their behavior (sp?) until they hit a bottom, ie until it becomes so damn painful that they then becoming willing to look for a way to change.

Simply put PROHIBITIONS DON'T WORK.

Be it a prohibition on Alcohol, Drugs or Guns

www.lewistechnogroup.com/2nd/have_we_learned.html

Of course it would be nice to have a choice of pre-PROHIBITION AR-15 w/Flash Suppressor & bayonet lug or post-PROHIBITION AR-15 w/o Flash Suppressor & bayonet lug.
