I've tried the urban legend sites this is sorta the last resort.

Likely not true.  Danzig was appeared in the crosshairs of fans for sounding a lot like Jim Morrison (personally, I think he sound more like Elvis).

There was some kind of interview the remaining members of The Doors participated in, and the question was brought up if they thought that Glen was ripping off Jim.

They responded "no he's not ripping jim off, he's emulating him but that's okay. he's allowed. jim would be pleased."
