I doubt he had to remind anyone in Pike County to arm themselves. Apparently though some had forgot. This kind of thing doesn't happen here. Until now. Seems like a common theme, just different places. It's a shame that this is what America has become. Even Mayberry isn't safe anymore.

To give a frame of reference, I live in a similar county in SE Ohio. At any given moment, we have between two and four sheriff's deputies on duty for a 500 square mile area with very poor road access. Best case scenario, my home gets invaded by methheads, we're looking at a 25 minute response time. Worst case scenario, it can be (and has been, for some people in our county) hours.

Grandma was 37 years old. killin over a derby car is totally plausible. ETA... Ive been to many demo derbys.... Sometimes there is more action in the crowd than on the field. Ive seen entire family on family fist fights. Ive seen a driver get thrown off the top of an RV. Ive seen where the men decide to quit fighting, but the women wont so its broad on broad fight for your family honor. Bad blood runs deep in the derby circuits. |

This situation and investigation has certainly posed more questions than answers. One or two people dead at a single location is one thing, but 8 dead at four scenes puts this on a whole different level in my opinion.
