I need some reccomendations on good books and training materials, or just advice. I have a new chessie "pup" that we were fostering that has now become mine and I am wanting to start trainig him as my gun dog.

I have quite abit of experience with dogs on the basics, Even though he is staring late he is doing great at obidience and retreiving.
He is 8 months old, and not gun shy a bit.

any and all help appreciated

thanks

For retrievers I would look for James Lamb Free's book on retriever training. The best book I have on pointing dog training was written by Bill Tarrant. He has a book on retriever training that may be worth considering.
