Today is my Birthday and it's snowing again. But I didn't want to sit in the house so I put my motorcycle lift together and tried it on my Road King. It lifted it easily and it's pretty stable so I'm happy with the purchase. In the picture, that's snow falling. for you guys that never seen snow. The lift came off Amazon.
The brand is OTC 1545.

Lift is so nice to have, makes cleaning and maintenance much easier for an old guy with a bad back.  Good looking RK.
Summer seems a damn long way off.

16 degrees and it's still snowing here. It will be about a foot of snow when this blows thru my late morning.

see those little D shaped rings on the base?

those are to strap it down, trust me you want to use those, I have had my bike sit on the damn thing for 3 hours while removing the wheel and going to get the tire changed and reinstalling the wheel just to fall off the lift once we started to lower it down.

Use the straps!

nice bike BTW

Good advise. I have the tie downs as it came with 2 of them. When I lowered the bike down, it dropped fairly quick and I let go of the lever. The bike seemed to bounce on the jack at that moment. So the thought of dropping the bike after you cleaned the wheels would be the end of a nice day.

Happy birthday!

I got an engine hoist as a Christmas present one year.  Girlfriend couldn't understand why I was so excited by it.

Tools are great gifts.

I only strap my Ultra down if I am going to be getting rough with it and have never had any problems.

It is a shame I can't use mine for oil changes..blasted thing blocks the drain plug.

Nice bike! I sold my sled lift, loved it for cleaning the sled and maintenance of course. Mine had a hand crank, but I adapted it to accept my Milwaukee 1/2 drill with a 1" socket. Made running it up and down a lot easier. More snow on the way for you next week, enjoy!

There is 2 or 3 on a large nail. About 25 feet each.

That's a nice looking lift.

And a gorgeous bike.

Happy Birthday!

With it strapped down and the position locks set on the lift, that's probably a good place for it for the next 3 months or so.
Maybe for Christmas you'll get a bottle of Stabil and a Battery Tender.
