I love my SR-1. It does not, however, say TNP on it, the blade isn't black, either.
So, minus side is I score zero points for "second kind of cool" and my knife does not factor well on the "likeability" scale due to it's lack of blade coating and bland color scheme. Upside, my knife doesn't have a 20 minute video review on it, of which the first 7 minutes discuss an entirely different knife. |

Well, shit. And if it couldn't get any worse, the first knife he pulls out in the review is the exact same one i've got. My SR-1 has now been infected with 25 minutes worth of second kind of cool that can never be washed off or otherwise expunged. 
In the garbage it goes, i guess.

I want the green handle with black blade SR-1 fo' sho'. I had to order mine because the only one my dealer had in stock at the time was a green one with black coated blade.
I dislike black blades nearly as much as i dislike serrations. Not quite, but almost. I do have an FDE Adamas with a black blade. I don't feel Tier 1 enough to use it, though

Disagreements on blade coatings aside, you have very good taste in quality knives. The Brous appears to have a satin finish? Or is that just a trick of the camera angle... I must admit a dirty little secret, though. It shames me to admit it but I have a ZT301 and I love that tiger stripe finish.
