My sister just got back from her 20th class re-union in St.Croix Falls Wi, & she brought me a 12er of Lienenkugels amber. I'm looking forward to a cold one once it's had the proper time to chill out in the fridge.

I'm going to bring a butt load of Alaskan beer home from my upcoming fishing trip.

BEER IS GOOD!

Leinies ... I had a couch made out of empties leinies cases in college.

It's not the best beer, but for $9.00 a case (not counting deposit), what the heck.

When I was younger we used to run over to Cheeseland to get Leinies, we called it Squaw piss.

Old Style was ok   but nothing beats The King of Beers Budweiser

Well I had me one, & it sure reminded me of my younger days in Wi. Any you cheese heads or flat landers ever drink Buck Horn? That was some cheap stuff, & think like $4.50 a case way back in the mid 80's. That's what I bought when I didn't have much money. gave me more cash for boom sticks.

A couple of Salvators in .5 liter bottles knocks me on my ass (9% alc)

Equivalent to more than a 6 pack of bud.

Try a Leinies Honey-Bear...half honey-wiess and half Berry Weiss. Not too bad, a nice change of pace.

I'm still partial to Fox River Brewery "Scottish Caber Tossing" ale.

heard of the mix-from a rep directly from Leinies at a Golf tourney. Of course I had to celebrate theis new found concoction by drinking even more of their beer (for free)- just the regular stuff, did not try the mix

I heard they went out of business.  Some yuppy bought the brewery from the Walters family, tried to microbrew and failed.  At one time Walters was Eau Claire's finest export.

i had an old walters returnable case.  I have not seen an actual full walters since 1978 or so- no i could not drink then.  but my dad and his buddy dranke it like it was going out of style (which apparently it did).   Of course we lived in EC at the time so I imagine it was not too expensive.

It was pretty cheap but a decent beer.  The microbrewed stuff made in the mid-1980s was excellent.  I still have Walters memoribilia including Walter's Cup t-shirts and Walters mugs.

Leines are pretty decent. I used to drink it regularly whenever the company I formerly worked for would send me to WI for training. It was a good change of pace/taste.

I can't say I'd pick it over Michelob or Bud Light but I'll drink it, that's for sure.

We hoosiers had buckhorn also.  You are right, it was cheap, and not very good, if I remember correctly.
Have you had a Point lately?
Do they still make S E (special export)?
