Did you watch last night?

What did you think?

Anyone notice that there was not one word about gun control?

Did anyone watch the Demorat response???

Yeah...How about the canned and stupid pre-outlined response by the Demopukes?

Fuzzy Math? Hell, the Demo's invented it!!

And, again, if they had all of these really good ideas, why didn't the Democrats use the last eight years to do something about it? They are coming across like all of it was their idea to start with...

What a f***ing JOKE!

The pres is definately starting to come off more polished.  I was genuinely impressed by how much of an improvement there is between his pre-election speaches and now.  As his confidence improves, that frat boy personality the papers tried to smear him with will probably become very valuable.  He's believable, unlike the previous biscuit-head.  Way to go, Dubya.

Anyone else see Hillary's attempt to clap?

The Demo's said "The President's figures are based on 10 year projections that aren't anymore accurate than a 10 year weather forecast!" [blue] DUH! What do the democrat geniuses think that their projections are based on?[:D]

Just a bunch of liberals...ah, we can spend this money paying down the debt, etc. Well you had 8 years to do it and you didn't do squat!

I was impressed. I think he's a good guy and I hope he does well.

I saw the Demo response. They are banking on teh hope that no one really remembers what was going on in the Reagan years. They are trying to blame the deficits on tax cuts, when the truth of the matter is the deficits were caused by Daschle and Gephardts spending money like water.

Its like you know you are getting a cut in pay because you took a job with less hours and lower pay. But you keep spending like mad, and end up with massive debt. Who's fault is that?? Well, according to the Democrats, thats your employers fault for not paying you enuf.

Bush was polished, and believable. He still seems to think partially Federalizing education is a solution. It ain't.

Other than that I think he was prety good.

Slick Hilly was throwing a temper tantrum last nite. Or maybe she was worried about being served a subpoena DURING the speech. Either way, she didn't look too happy. Suits me.

Funny you should mention the national debt.  My wife and I were discussing that with my father-in-law. He hates Bush! He is also an "arsenal" owning democrat. She told him that if the government had sold all the historic military machineguns, rifles, and pistols that they deliberately destroyed in the past 20 years. And sold them to FFL dealers, Who would then sell them to registered and TAX PAYING citizens. We could have taken a very huge chunk out of the debt. He looked shocked that she mentioned guns.  And then to my surprise,He agreed!

Good presentation.

The socialist democRats Vucked up with their rebuttal, sounded canned, bland and like they read it.  Best part when Dick, thinking everyone agrees with what HE said, asked Bush to reach out his hand and accept their proposal.

I voted for Bush, of course, but there is one issue with his tax cut I am not clear about. Maybe some of you guys can enlighten me. :)

As Bush proposes a switch from a system of five tax brackets to four, is it not conceivable that some people will be moved up to the next highest bracket? And even though the next highest bracket is less than it used to be, it's still more than what you are paying now.

The reason I bring up this point is because there has been no mention to date as to how the existing brackets will be mapped into the new brackets. I'm hoping everyone will be shifted down, but again, I don't think this has been addressed.

What ya think?

I liked the speech. On the gun control issue: Has anyone heard about something called a "Golden Clause," which would allow the president to repeal laws signed by Executive Order after 8 years? I would like to see him take away a WHOLE lot of junk from 1994, as soon as 2002 rolls around. Anybody agree?

Libertarian - I sort of agree with you.  Both the Dems and the Repubbies are now big government gluttons.  Bush certainly is better than Gore would have been but let's face it, the reason our politicians are becoming more socialist is becasue more of our stupid population is doing so.

People, or sheeple as I call them, more and more don't want real freedom.  They want a nanny to tell the "everything will be all right", and that's who they are voting for.

It's a crime how the democrats complain that they "need" the surplus money for "popular programs" - as if it was their "right" to spend OUR money.  Sadly, there are tens of millions of Americans that buy into that sob story, which is based on the fear tactics that the Dems have become so masterful at using.

It's sad that more Americans aren't screaming for the Feds to give them their money back.  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SURPLUS PEOPLE!!!

CMOS

The best line in the demoscum's response was: "It's too expensive. It will cost us to much -- we cannot afford it."

It will cost US taxpayers too much to get OUR money back! Can you believe that crap?

NO $HIT.  How dare they?

I was inspired by W's speech.  I'm proud to have him as my President.

I voted for Klinton just before I got into guns...HEY!!! I didn't know any better!
Couldn't figure out why all the people I'd been voting for came up as anti-gun with a (D) behind their names in the Gun Magazines!
WELL...I never voted THAT way again!!!

I noted the lack of mention of gun control, alright!  How refreshing!  And, I think they knew that.
Thanks, W!

I have to agree with libertarian -- (oddly enough, since that's my party too) -- Bush's speech scared me. Especially the line about leaving big government/small government debates in the last century. I want a return to the eighteenth century -- where does that leave me? Any "activist" government bothers me, no matter the size.

To Libertarian and all,

Like it or not, you have only two choices.

If you choose not to choose you still have made a choice.

Forgive me for quoting Rush (that's the rock group not the Radio Show Personality).
