I hope they don't start off making hundreds/thousands of them as I doubt the market demand will be there at those prices.

Are they still using those ugly commercial FN lowers?

Yea that shits a bit out of whack.

That being said the FN DMR is fucking amazing

I'll be honest, I'd like to own one of each. I just can't see myself dropping ~$1500 for it though.

I've been thinking about picking up another M4 clone, as the only other one I have is an older A2 very simple gun I purchased years ago.

I was leaning towards getting a Colt 6920, but if these are priced right I might pick one up at some point. I really like the 14.7" barrel with the pinned flash suppressor.

Not for $1500 though...

Damn I really wanted one of each, but I thought they would be 1000-1200$

I'm trying to remember what the number was but I think it was about $450 for an M4A1 on the CMR.

Uncle Sam discount I guess.

They are supposed to look like the.gov guns, so the machining and marking was changed to mimic what the government gets. R

ETA: they were CNC engraved, not "rollmarked". The markings will still be more consistent than the government guns though.

I think Lipseys should have them in stock.

I would be a buyer in the $750-800 range. Not for $1500, sorry FN...

In todays market of $500-600 ARs, even $850 Colt 6920's, im not paying $1500 for a roll mark.

$1600 is the MAP.

FN won't let a dealer sell advertise under $1600 if they want to keep being a dealer. I'll guess the average price will be $1700 ish

I wish they'd do stripped lowers.   My issued rifle was an FN M16A2, I'd like to build a clone.

... that's what MAP stands for, no?

What the market will driver the price it is anyone's guess, but doubt they'll move many over $1,000.

Just my stupid opinion, worth nothing.

I'm with strat. Flood the market with a gun no one wants to pay that much for until they start begging us to buy them.

Well, keep in mind between employees (and their friends and family), and suppliers, a company like FN can probably offload between a thousand to two thousand of these without breaking a sweat.

ETA: I agree the price is going to plummet though. They are way high on MAP.

I'd be more interested if there was an A2 version.

I was really excited about these, especially the A4 clone.  Ouch at that price though.

Can anyone else confirm the 7k price for the M249s?  That seems high to me. I was hoping for around 5k.

Are they even offering it? That was just a guess at what it would cost based on what the military pays for them.

I doubt the cost of an M249 costs $7k...Probably not even $5k.

Just like an M4 or M16 doesn't cost almost $2k

I'd go for an A4 if they were sub-1k, but then my only nostalgia for FN goes to OSUT.

I guess the key word is "collector" but damn you can buy a complete 6920 upper on the EE for $400 and make your own.

It's about $4K for the military, with accessories. So after FN mods it to fire semi-only and gets in their margin it's going to cost a lot more.

The NIB rails are driving that cost.

You can get them used for under $100.

With that said, it's nice that someone is finally offering loyal clones.

I really just want a stripped lower. I have an FN A2 clone built on a NDS lower. It would be pretty cool to put all those parts on an FN lower.
