Assembly bill AB 22, Lownethal, (D) Long beach, would shut down all state gun dealers who operate out of a residential dwelling.
Presumably this would include those who sell only at gun shows but have no retail outlet, but the legislation is not clear on that subject.

In addition, residential dwelling is vaguely defined and not tied to any zoning or regulatory practices already in place in your town or county. Gunsmiths would be exempt, but it is unclear how one proves that they are a gunsmith.

THIS BILL PASSED OUT OF COMMITTEE ON A 5-2 PARTY LINE VOTE.
