Saw the vid, crazy shit! Goes to show how well built those hawks are though. Good thing they were so close to the ground when it hit or they would likely have been worse off. All crew are alive at this point.

Were the helicopter crashed is probably the best place on the mountain for a helicopter to crash concerning the steep areas that are around the area. Any other area and the helicopter would have bounced and just slid farther down the mountain.

This happens to be the third rescure in a one week period that the Air Force Reserve unit the 939th has had to rescue people.

One last week a snowboarder fell 3500 vertical feet off the summit and bounced like a pingpong ball down some cliffs. They had that rescue on TV live. The guy was obviously dead.

This has been a crazy mountain climbing season so far, and it has just begun.

One of the crew from the helicopter that crashed actually was tossed out of the helicopter, they showed it on Tv, I think it was like the fourth roll that all of a sudden you saw a person roll out of the helicopter then stand up, it was amazing. Thank goodness nobody was killed.

The mountain is pissed, she is not letting anyone leave unscathed today.  What’s next?  "Today during an attempt to rescue 9 climbers and 5 guardsmen Mt. Hood erupts covering Portland with ash and lava..."

She sure is beautiful though.
