My fiance has always been interested in animals and has decided to pursue a career animal care. The problem is that she has very little experience in the field except for working on a farm taking care of horses and pet sitting for friends and family.  This lack of experience has made it difficult for her to get hired even for entry level positions.

Does anyone have any experience in this type of field or have any advice, links to websites,ideas, etc. that would be of help? She was looking at animal control and possibly veterinary technician positions, but if there are other jobs out there that would be similar we're open to suggestions.

I am a pre-veterinary student, working as a vet-tech at an animal shelter while I go to school. I work with alot of ACO's (animal control officers) so I know a bit about that too.
