Do I get to wear a pastel sport jacket, white canvas pants, and Sperry topsiders?
If so I’ll go get my 1006 |

It would be fun to do a 10 stage decade match.
First stage is 1900-1910 guns Second stage is 1911-1920 guns and so on. |

I like the idea.
Do you actually have to hit anything or just look super bad ass while trying? |

I hope the 70’s stage looks like the Beastie’s Sabotage video

Seems easier to use another sanctioning body's rules with an addendum for your match dictating allowed firearms.
I.e., USPSA Multi-gun but give a list of allowable guns and modifications. And no costumes, please. |

Here's the match's theme:
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone (Official Video - Top Gun) |
|
|
We could probably throw in period conflicts as a part of the theme, too. Gulf War, Bush War, the civil wars in Latin America, conflicts involving South Africa, etc. Heck, Vietnam even fits into that theme.

There needs to be a service revolver division that requires fixed sights and no moon clips.

Got a Colt Detective special, Hi power, and an 870.
Two gun or three gun? Don't have a mini 14 any more. |

View Quote Dressing up like one of the other guys on the vice team would be much easier than Crockett or Tubbs. They wore Cuban/bowling/Hawaiian shirts and jeans. Crockett and Tubbs wore Italian suits. Expensive dress shoes. If you are a female, it would much harder to find 80's fashion clothes. I can see how this would appeal to me like CAS does to old folks. Aside from the 80s clothes, you have to get the vice/narc look: necklace badge holders belt badge holder external vest carrier with POLICE on the back Leather shoulder holsters. It would all be reusable for "Tango & Cash", "Raw Deal", "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" scenarios. |

I just realized the new match covers the 1970s.
Mc Cloud used a single action army and wore a cowboy hat. Yeehaw! |

Playing with guns of a specific genre is one thing. LARPing in costumes is another.
I would only want the gun part. |

So a wife beater and barefoot while running an mp5 would be legit?

I can’t help but feel somewhat responsible for this...
My original concept was “retro-cop” for revolvers and pump shotguns. But this could work. |

View Quote But now I'm starting to imagine a "dumpster defense" theme match. Would women be allowed if everyone has to be shirtless? Side note. I have a real hankering to see Shockwave style shotguns used in shooting matches. That sporting purpose clause that keeps coming back up even though it was an idea invented by Nazis. |

Best decades for action movies no doubt about it. Grew up mostly with the 80's and 90's action movies. Love submachine guns like UZI's and Mp5's.
