Thought I would share some pics of this years Christmas Tree. My wife and I didn't have any ornaments, so we thought we would improvise.

did you drill holes into the case to empty the powder?

I'm quite envious of your tree.  That would never fly in my family.

Charlie Brown called - he wants his tree back.

Hell no, but we did use dental floss for red and green string.

Hope your tree doesn't catch fire.

That's awesome, very creative!  I hope you don't have any young kids around to start throwing ammo around the room.

I love the star.

To the rest of you:
If ammo doesn't cook off sitting in a humvee in Iraq in 130 degree weather, do you really think It's gonna go off from the heat of a fricking mini light?

At first I was going to ask if you were single...
Then I saw mention about wife so I was confused...
Then I saw you were from Texas and it made sense again :) :)

I thought about putting a 100rd belt of .50 around the bottom and linking the beginning to the end so it would never end, but they ran out of the belted stuff at my local shop and it would have cost $300

Now, strip ALL the needles and everything else off, leaving just ONE round hanging. Then you'll have (sing it with me here)...

"...A cartridge in a bare tree."

I like it.....Merry Christmas to you and yours.

After much thought and consideration, (which I rarely give to a post), I have come to a conclusion.

The concept, is outstanding.

The execution, however.....sucks.

Next year, just spend $20 on some ornaments.

And very creative tree, OP!  Merry Christmas to you and your lovely wife!

Impressively creative, yet strangely depressing.  Why don't you have any ornaments?
