So my girlfriend and I jumped in the shower after work, and forgot to put the bird away. He's been left out by himself plenty of times before, and usually doesn't cause any trouble. However, this time he flew into our bedroom and saw my airweight on the bedside table and decided it would be fun to destroy it. Birds like to tear things apart, and that's pretty much what he did to my Crimson Trace grips.

So the laser still works, even though the button is gone. Anybody know if Crimson Trace can reuse the laser and just put new grips on it? I'd like to try and get some use out of this laser. Or am I just stuck spending over $200 on another set and just tossing this one? Either way, thought some of you guys might get a chuckle out of it.

Don't understand why someone would have a pet bird. The thing has wings and was born to fly.. why confine it to a cage?

Well, apparently the bird understands some safety since it didn't discharge...which would have been interesting to explain to folks.

If his beak would have squeezed that trigger and the trigger guard there would have been a kaboom.  They are pretty strong and there is no doubt in my mind he could have bit the trigger hard enough to discharge the weapon.

I feel your pain:  I have a blue fronted amazon and he tears stuff up all the time:  phones, blinds, etc.  I found him in a parking lot over 20 yrs ago and I am convinced he did not get away from someone:  someone opened the window and told him to GTFO.

Oh yeah, he says over 100 words/sounds. Well, I stopped counting after 100 anyway. I've had him about 3 years, he's my bestest friend. And he's only about 8 or 9 years old, so hopefully he'll live just as long as I do, if not longer.

As for GC7, I totally agree that it's mean to have a bird and not let them out. My bird flies around the house quite regularly. Anytime we're home, he's out of the cage. In fact, he used to not even have a cage, he just lived on his big wooden perch. But, he eventually got bold and started getting into trouble while we were gone.

This obviously crossed my mind, however it would have been very unlikely. Don't get me wrong, I fully admit that it's possible. However, if you watch how most birds "play" with things they don't really squeeze like that. They nip and "bite and release" so to speak. At least the birds I've personally had and other's I've been around don't. And actually, being double action only with a pretty heavy trigger pull, he'd have to really try. African Greys have strong beaks, but they're not bone crushing or anything. Anyway, just wanted to address that I did think about that scenario and whatnot, and although it's hard to explain why, I'm just trying to say it's pretty unlikely. For my bird anyway.
