Do you believe that it's untrue?

The story is that Mr. Rogers was in special forces in Vietnam back in the early days when they were the first advisors over there.  He saw a lot of killing and violence which affected him so much that when he came back to the states he devoted his life to making Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, a show about happiness and goodness.

Recently, somebody told me that he always wore long sleeves on the show to cover his special forces tattoos.

Of course that's what they want you to think.

But as I understand it, from a very reliable source, Mr. Rogers was HALO'd into Moscow on several occasions.

The only thing John Denver ever had to do with the military was growing up in the household of an award-winning B-58 Hustler pilot of a father.

Another interesting story: a friend of mine, his dad was in the USMC,  a tanker who was in charge of the US landings in Lebanon in 1958, and his babysitter when he was growing up on military bases, was EmmyLou Harris! Last I heard, my friend, who I am long out of touch with, was a cop someplace on Cape Cod.

Rogers was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a town located 40 miles (65 km) southeast of Pittsburgh. He was born to James and Nancy Rogers; he spent many years as an only child. He spent much of his free time as a child with his maternal grandfather, Fred McFeely, and had an interest in puppetry and music. He would often sing along as his mother would play the piano. He was red-green colorblind.[1]

His parents also acted as foster parents to an black teenager named George, whose mother had died. Rogers eventually came to consider George his older brother. George later became an instructor for the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II and also taught Rogers to fly.[2]

Following secondary school, he studied at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire between 1946 and 1948 before transferring to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. He received a BA in music composition there in 1951.

At Rollins, Rogers met his wife, Sara Joanne Byrd, whom he married on July 9, 1952.[3] They had two children, James (born in 1959) and John (born in 1961), and three grandsons, the third (Ian McFeely Rogers) born 12 days after Rogers' death.[4] In 1962, Rogers graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was ordained a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

maybe his job with the military was highly classified? so top secret that even the Pentagon is hush hush about it?

that kind of stuff does happen

maybe he was ex CIA?

just because his biography on the internet doesnt mention any military service does not mean anything.
